This popular Christmas flower should be placed near a sunny window as its tropical origin means that it enjoys direct sunlight. We suggest to place it near a South or West facing window.

You can typically prolong the Poinsettias blooming period by keeping the plant in a warm indoor environment that ranges anywhere from 65 – 75 degrees during the day and 60 degrees overnight. Keep the plant away from cool drafts or against a cold window as it will likely cause the leaves to drop prematurely.

Make sure to water whenever the surface of the soil feels dry. Hydrate your poinsettia until water begins to drain out of the bottom of the container. Be sure to drain the excess water left in the container as excess water will also cause the leaves to drop prematurely. Remember Poinsettias are tropical plants, which means they like a humid environment. It’s likely that our cool dry air may cause you to water daily.

Bamboo Palm (Chamaedorea)- Feathery, Palmlike foliage, grows in low light; water frequently.

Chrysanthemum- potted, flowering mums don’t last long indoors, but they do their part for clean air while there. Grow them in bright light; water the top inch soil when dry.

Dracaena (corn plant)- These come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. ‘Warneckii’ is varigated white and green; ‘Janet Craig’ has wider leaves; ‘tricolor’ shos gold, green and red on the leaves. Grows in low light, water only when top of the soil is dry.

Gerbera Daisy- Bright flowers for dark days, Grow gerberas in bright light and water reguarly. DO NOT LET SIT IN WATER.

Philodendron and pothos- Well known as trailing plants, these are hearty and can grow in low light. You can also not worry about forgetting to water it because it likes the soil to dry out completely before watering. There are many varieties but the shape of the leaves are all heart shaped.

Snake plant- This plant is almost indestructable; it has upright thick, swordlike leaves. The most common has a yellow stripe down the middle. Grow in low light, water occasionally.

Peace Lily- Elegant plant with glossy dark green foliage, and white lilylike flowers. Grown in Bright to low light. Water when soil is dry.

Spider plant-  The spider plant is one of the best at removing unwated molecules from the air. Bright light is best, as is regular watering.
